Ingredients

For the chicken

  • 2 chicken breast fillets
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil, for frying

For the garlic-chive sauce

  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

For the burgers

  • 2 Kaiser rolls
  • Lettuce leaves
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 2 slices processed cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Pickles, sliced
  • Red onion, thinly sliced
  • Crispy fried onions

Instructions

1. Cook the chicken
Season the chicken breast fillets with salt and black pepper. Heat a little oil in a skillet and cook the chicken on both sides until golden and cooked through.

2. Make the sauce
Combine mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, minced garlic and chopped fresh chives. Season with salt and black pepper and mix until creamy.

3. Prepare the rolls
Slice the Kaiser rolls in half and arrange the bottom halves in a glass oven-safe baking dish.

4. Add the sauce and vegetables
Spread a generous layer of garlic-chive sauce over the bottom buns. Add lettuce and two slices of tomato to each burger.

5. Add the chicken and cheese
Add a slice of processed cheese, followed by the cooked chicken fillet. Sprinkle shredded cheddar over the chicken.

6. Add the remaining toppings
Top with sliced pickles, thinly sliced red onion and another layer of shredded cheese.

7. Finish the burgers
Sprinkle crispy fried onions over the top and cover with the other halves of the Kaiser rolls.

8. Bake
Place the baking dish in a preheated oven at 375°F / 190°C and bake for approximately 8–12 minutes, until the cheese has melted and the rolls are hot and crispy.

9. Serve hot
Remove from the oven and serve immediately while the buns are crispy and the cheese is hot and melted.

K.O. Sizzle Forge Tip

Don’t bake the burgers too long. The chicken is already cooked, so the oven is only there to melt the cheese, heat everything through and give the Kaiser rolls that incredible crispy finish.
