Texas-Sized 1 KG Square Burger – Giant Cheeseburger Recipe

Would You Eat a 2.2 LB Square Burger?

This Texas-sized square burger takes the classic cheeseburger to a completely different level. Made with a massive 1 kg (2.2 lb) beef patty, two layers of melted cheese, three fried eggs, fresh vegetables, Thousand Island dressing, and a homemade rectangular burger bun, this is definitely not your everyday burger.

This giant K.O Sizzle Forge creation was made to be big, messy, cheesy, and unforgettable. With 2.2 pounds of beef alone, there’s definitely no need for fries on the side.

Ingredients – Makes 1 Giant Burger

For the Beef

  • 1 kg (2.2 lb) ground beef
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Lard, for frying

For the Burger

  • 1 large homemade rectangular burger bun
  • 4 slices yellow cheese
  • 4 slices processed toast cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes, sliced
  • Red onion, sliced
  • Thousand Island dressing

Instructions

1. Shape the Giant Beef Patty

Shape 1 kg (2.2 lb) of ground beef into one large rectangular patty that matches the shape of the homemade bun.

Try to keep the thickness as even as possible so the beef cooks evenly. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

2. Fry the Beef in Lard

Heat a large frying pan and add enough lard to cook the beef.

Carefully place the giant patty into the hot pan. Cook until a deep brown crust develops on the first side, then carefully flip it and continue cooking until the beef is completely cooked through.

Because this patty contains a full kilogram of beef, it takes considerably longer to cook than a regular burger patty.

3. Add Two Layers of Cheese

While the beef is still hot, place 4 slices of yellow cheese over the patty followed by 4 slices of processed toast cheese.

Allow the cheese to melt over the hot beef, creating a thick, creamy cheese layer across the giant patty.

4. Fry the Eggs

Fry 3 eggs until the whites are set and the yolks are cooked to your preferred consistency.

Keep them ready so they can be added to the burger while everything is still hot.

5. Prepare the Homemade Burger Bun

Use a large homemade rectangular burger bun shaped to match the giant beef patty.

Slice the bun horizontally and prepare it for all of the fillings.

6. Serve
Close the burger with the top bun, carefully cut it and serve. With 1 kg of beef, eight slices of cheese and three eggs, there’s definitely no need for fries.
